SAC

The Pineloch School Advisory Council (SAC) is a group that brings stakeholders together to assist the principal in developing and evaluating a school improvement plan.  We encourage all parents to become active SAC members.  SAC meetings are held four times per year.

Nominations are Now Open for 2020-2021 SAC Members and Officers!

The following positions are open for nomination:

  • SAC Members
  • SAC Chair
  • SAC Vice-Chair
  • SAC Secretary

Parents, teachers, and support staff are eligible to participate in SAC.  We are seeking a diverse group of individuals that are representative of our student demographics.

Those interested in serving as a member or officer must email Dr. Stacey Price, Principal, by 4:00pm on Friday, October 9, 2020.  Her email is [email protected].  Please include the position you are seeking and a brief statement about yourself and your interest in serving on the Pineloch SAC.

Duties of SAC members shall include:

  • Advise in developing the school’s vision
  • Use state and district goals as a guide for assessing the school’s needs
  • Determine and prioritize the goals of the school based on appropriate needs assessments and other data
  • Develop measurable objectives and strategies for addressing the goals that have been prioritized
  • Assist in the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the school improvement plan
  • Identify the appropriate use of school improvement dollars for implementing the approved school improvement plan, if funds are available from the Florida Department of Education
  • Operate in compliance with Florida Law
  • Shall assist principal in preparation of school’s annual budget
  • Shall not have any powers and duties reserved by law to the school board

Duties of the Chair shall include:

    • Preside at meetings
    • Develop last minute or emergency agenda items with the principal
    • Appoint subcommittee chairs
    • Notify all members of upcoming meeting dates
    • Inform SAC of relevant training
    • Assist principal with presentation of school improvement plan to the community

Duties of Vice-Chair shall include:

    • Assumes the duties of the Chair if the Chair is absent or vacates the position
    • Assist principal with annual survey

Duties of Secretary shall include:

    • Record minutes of meetings
    • Keep annual attendance records
    • Track expenditures from school improvement funds and maintain SAC financial records
    • SAC correspondence
    • Send minutes to members with the next month’s agenda
    • Provide public notice of all SAC meetings

Elections will be held through an electronic survey and will be open from 10/13 through 10/16.

New members and officers will be announced at the next Virtual SAC Meeting on 10/22/20 at 5:00 pm.
